Diagnostic Inspection

  • Inspect transition hose to ensure material is UL rated aluminum or rigid metal, property connected and unobstructed airflow.

  • Visually examine full length of visible portion of dryer exhaust vent. Must be made with fire retardant metal duct material that meets code.

  • Test efficiency of dryer exhaust vent with an anemometer reading to measure airflow velocity created by the dryer blower to indicate any possible blockages.

  • Inspect the exterior termination vent for lint build-up or blockage. Determine if a replacement is required.

  • Following diagnostic inspection, we explain any required work to bring system up to code and explain any noted deficiencies.

Dryer Exhaust Vent Cleaning

  • Place coverings to protect floors from equipment and foot traffic. We always wear shoe covers inside your home.

  • Detach dryer from dryer exhaust vent and clean exposed surfaces of the appliance of any accumulated lint.

  • Use of a proprietary, high powered, Hepa filtered vacuum and a 4” rotating brush to remove lint build-up and clogs from the full length of dryer exhaust vent.

  • Laundry room and dryer appliance is left as clean, if not cleaner, as when we arrived.

Dryer Exhaust Vent Repair, Re-Routing and/or Replacement

  • Dryer Vent Safety only uses materials that follow the International Residential Code specifications.

  • Replace transition hose between dryer and wall with fire retardant material.

  • Replace wire-ribbed Mylar foil and vinyl exhaust vent with smooth metal venting material.

  • Tape joints and elbow seams with aluminum tape.

  • Re-strap unsecured, sagging vents.

  • Replace plastic outdoor termination vent with metal termination vent to prevent animal entry.

REQUIREMENTS for repair or replacement

  • Crushed vent, broken seams or non-approved materials require replacement.

  • Inadequate materials not to code.

  • Poor workmanship.

I snuck up on the dryer...

Scared the sheet out of it.
